Caroline has created trails for the National Gallery and other organisations. You can see a few examples here, together with trails from Amuse Yourself associates.
Katie’s National Gallery Adventure – National Gallery
Caroline created a trail for the National Gallery with children’s illustrator and author James Mayhew. James is the creator of the beloved Katie books. Take a look at Katie’s Picture Trail and join illustrator James Mayhew and museum educator, Caroline Marcus, for a tour of the National Gallery.
Marvellous Blooms – National Gallery
Join Saskia on a tour of the National Gallery. She’s dressed up as Flora, the Roman goddess of flowers. You’re invited to join her to discover and explore blooming, marvellous flower paintings, which include fearsome weapons, cheerful sunflowers, and secret meanings! There are exciting things to do, such as solving puzzles, looking, and drawing and sharing art secrets. She hopes you have a blooming marvellous time exploring the paintings.
Florentine Frolics Tour – Private Client
We created a trail for a 50th Birthday trip to Florence, which included activities to explore in famous places around Florence, including the splendid Uffizi Gallery.
Entertaining the Nation, Stars of Music, Stage and Screen – Jewish Museum
We created a trail for the Jewish Museum’s exhibition Entertaining the Nation Exhibition. The exhibition explored the fascinating untold story of Jewish contribution to British entertainment from Victorian music hall to the stars of today. Themes included the stories behind stars of music, stage and screen through a fascinating display of costumes, props, vintage photographs, posters and hands-on objects as well as archive footage and newly commissioned films, in a 1920s inspired cinema. The exhibition offered a range of fun activities for children and families including interactive displays, a dressing up box and a special exhibition trail.

Author and Illustrator James Mayhew
It was a huge pleasure to collaborate with Caroline on the “Katie” trail for the National Gallery. Her profound knowledge of the paintings and the mythology behind them was inspiring, her enthusiasm contagious. She brings enormous energy and passion to everything she does. When Caroline is involved, you can be certain that the future of museum education is in safe hands.
