National Gallery
CMA designed a workshop for the National Gallery’s Adult Programme linked to the theme Lessons in Body Language. Participants were asked How aware are you of your body language? And how fluent are you at reading and interpreting other people’s signals? The practical course explored the power of communicating through body language from the Old Masters. Through examining a range of portrait and history paintings, participants explored how the figures depicted enhanced their personal impact or presence, built rapport, or managed conflict through the messages they evoked with their bodies. Participants tried out some real-life scenarios reflecting body language in paintings, and discovered how to use these in their lives.
